I enjoy and appreciate your blog. I made a stand for my EWI USB that is, I think, even easier to build than yours. It takes a different approach, using the strap hook to support the instrument. Construction consists mostly of drilling 6 holes. Mine is made of leftover scraps of an ironwood board and a bamboo composite deck board, plus a bit of brass rod cut off of an old brass candle snuffer I got at Goodwill.
